Purrr! I'm Sweetie.
You may wonder why a big, black TomCat like myself would have a name like
Sweetie, but it's purrfect for me because I love to snuggle and give
nuzzles.
Sweetie was found on a cold winter night in a field where he had been living for quite
some time. After he was warmed up and fed, it was discovered that he had been
declawed. He had obviously been turned out to fend for himself. This is one of the
cruelest acts there is. Declawed cats are at the mercy of predators because they
have nothing to defend themselves with. But this guy beat the odds that were
against him...he survived by hunting with his teeth; the scars on his face are the
evidence of that. Now in his golden years, he suffers from Stomatitis. He is closely
monitored and is doing as well as can be expected for one his age.
